Learning Disorders (Dyslexia) has gained some public awareness after the movie 'Tarein Zameen Par". To ensure that teachers are aware of the various Learning disorders like Dyscalculia (difficulty with maths), Dyslexia (difficulty with reading and spellings), Dysgraphia (difficulty with writing) and Sensory integration we are also having workshops for teachers.
Our Remedial Education Teacher is Alpha to Omega trained and is good to train children with above problems. Remedial Educator is available at the hospital from 2:30pm - 6:00pm.
We also identify children with special needs and address the same appropriately. Children who do not behave age appropriately also need specific assessments and education.
Our psychologists and Special educator have formed a team to cover as many schools as possible to increase the awareness amongst the teachers about Learning Disorders and also about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) the other major issue hampering the learning ability of an otherwise intelligent child.

The Special educationist also devises an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) for each child with Learning Disorder or Learning Disability (Mental Retardation) and also the cognitively challenged.
Individual trained in the TEACCH protocol is also our guide and helper when it comes to handling Children with Autism. Our Occupational Therapist is someone the child is put into contact with when she/he has issues with sensory integration.
