Respite is for those who care for patients. All who care for patients with any long term illness will get burnt out if they do not take breaks periodically. Their quality of life gets effected. This break is essential. Respite Care at Chetana Hospital addresses this essential need and allows for caregivers to recharge emotionally and physically.
Scenarios where respite care is needed:
- You are having to go out of station but you do not know where to leave or in whose care you should leave your ward…contact us….we will provide a break to you as you can then leave patient with us for a stay upto 3 months. Or
- The patient is making too much of disturbance at home (behavioural issues, patients with dementia, etc ) and your health is getting effected then you could leave the person with us and take a break from this routine and emotionally draining work.
Patients with mental illness or persons with severe personality disorders could join our programme for rehabilitation.
In this programme the patients are encouraged to make an inventory of their strengths and weakness. And based on that and their dreams and aspirations - practical and workable goals are identified. Family participation is a must.
The patient is then encouraged to follow a structured routine. This routine has to become a habit so that a sense of structure and zest is given to their life when they re-enter their daily lives, relationships and environment.
