Welcome to Day Care
The role of Day Care is to provide social care for psychiatry patients. It can be effective in returning the patient or client to integrate into community. It is also beneficial in cutting down / decreasing hours of face to face interactions between patients and care givers. This helps in relieving the strain on family members and also addressing any self-harm or self-neglect by patient. It is a respite for family too.
Intake session/s will identify the needs of the patient/client and the areas of deficits on which to focus will be identified. The family member’s expectations and needs will be taken into consideration. Patients with mental Retardation, head injury and active psychotic illness or suicidal ideation will not meet criteria for day care.
